OB/ gyn with office hours after 5:30 or weekend hours

Does anyone know of a doctor or an office that has hours that would either be open after 5:30 or has weekend hours?  I work till 5:30 and just found out I am pregnant.  If someone could give me some suggestions that would be helpful.  Thanks

  • Congratulations! I know that my office in Greentree has late hours on Thursdays, but not weekends. I think some of the UPMC Womencare Associates offices do late hours, so I might call the 1-800 number on the UPMC website for scheduling and ask them which offices have late hours. :)
  • I tried the 1-800 number and they weren't helpful but I will call that office personally and talk to them. I would like to have confirmation before telling my husband and it's killing me not telling him.

  • UPMC OB/GYN Associates of Pittsburgh has Thursday evening OB only hours.  They have an office near Magee, one in Fox Chapel and one in Monroeville.
  • Most offices will not see you unless you are 12 weeks, unless you are having complications. Good luck finding an office!
  • I was able to get a blood serum test at my PCP to confirm my pregnancy.  I know the pee tests are accurate, but I just didn't feel comfortable until I heard a doctor say "yes you are pregnant" (first pregnancy here, don't know what I'm doing at all!)  You should be able to do that and get the results next day if you feel you need that confirmation.  Give yourself some time to research OB/GYNs, not just based on their office hours.
  • I go to the Monroeville OB/GYN Associates office and they have evening hours on Tuesdays till 7pm.  I do all of my appointments in the evening.
Mom to Ryan (3/28/07) and William (10/26/11).  Surprise- We are expecting baby #3 on February 1, 2014!

  • I also go to UPMC OB/GYN and their evening hrs are very convenient. When I called to make my 1st apt I was 7 weeks and they wanted to see me before I was 10 weeks. She was surprised I was so far along and hadn't called. I was being treated by a Gyno so he treated me until 6 weeks and then released me to an OB. I'm thinking they might of seen me sooner had I called earlier.
