Hopefully bringing home twin B on Monday.

Anyone had issues with a baby who had Brady's? What should I look for when Twin be comes home?

Re: Hopefully bringing home twin B on Monday.

  • When's the last time LO had a Brady? One of the criteria for us going home was no bradys for 5 days (G had a lot when he was little but grew out of them). I would hope they wouldn't send you home if bradys were an issue unless they plan on sending you with a monitor.
Hoping this one stays put a little longer

Exactly this for us, too. We only had a pulse/ox for DD2 since she still came home on O2.

  • She seems to have them once in a while in the early morning, or when a nurse is feeding her with the wrong nipple. Doc says it's more of a forget to swallow because of being born so early. I am worried about Brady's because it put her at higher risk for SIDS. She had one this morning at 2:30 am that dropped her to 54 for two seconds and self corrected. She earned herself another 48 hours in the NICU. I am worried if she comes home too soon something will happen, but also feel bad because she is missing out on time with her identical sister:( Breaks my heart.

My daughter did the same thing and ended up being snt home on a monitor. I think they let her go because she always self corrected quickly. The monitor gives me a peace of mind at night but is really just annoying during the day at this point. All we've had is false alarms, but I'm still glad we took the monitor and ran! If they offer you the option I'd say go for it (you might even want to tell the docs that you're open to the idea - we did and that's how the convo started). Good luck!
  • Thanks for the advice. I will talk to the doctor.
