Acupuncture for high BP?

Hi ladies,

I was put on modified bedrest on Wednesday for "high" blood pressure and a 12 pound weight gain in a month. My blood pressure when I got there was 140/79. It is totally normal for me to have high blood pressure before my appointment (I always get nervous until I hear the heartbeats). After ,y appointment they took it again and it was 104/65. I saw my MFM the next day and he wasn't concerned (he took my BP after the appointment and it was 120/67). I'm on a low carb/high protein diet since both babies have lots of amniotic fluid (probable due to eating too many carbs and sugar).

I was just wondering if anyone has done acupunture to help with blood pressure while pregnant. I'm willing to try anything to keep these babies in as long as possible.

Acupuncture could help. I did it while trying to conceive and it was incredibly relaxing. I always fell asleep. You may look into guided meditation as well. I liked listening to the meditation while doing acupuncture and you may benefit from that as well. Good luck!

I haven't tried acupuncture for BP, but I am a big fan of acupuncture in general, and I definitely think it would help, especially if some of your BP issues are related to nervousness / anxiety.
