I'm 37.5 weeks right now, haven't had any progress as far as cervical changes, even with lots of painful contractions. Due to a previous delivery, my OB and I agree that inducing at 39 weeks is best. However, I really really wanted to try to go epi free this time, and knowing how painful inductions are, I'm terrified that things aren't going to work in favor of that.
This is mostly just a vent/place to air my concerns. But, any words, experiences etc are welcome!

Have you considered trying natural means of induction first?
Walk a lot. Bounce on a yoga ball. Try nipple stimulation (either you, your DH, or try using a breast pump on a low setting. Try sex...that did it for me with both my boys!!
As PPs have said, you can also try some induction options like a foley bulb or cervadil before you jump to Pitocin. Talk over with your OB/MW these options and see if you can find an approach you can all agree to!
