Nanny share pay question...

A woman i know approached me about doing a nanny share. She has 2 kids and i have one. She would keep her nanny 3 days a week and we would get her 2. she has had her nanny for 6 yrs and pays her $16/hr for the 2 kids, but started at 14/hr with only one child.  I am interviewing the nanny next week but I am wondering what your thoughts are as far as an hourly rate proposed being that I only have one child. I think $16 is too high....thoughts?

Re: Nanny share pay question...

  • This isn't really a nanny share.  A nanny share is usually when the nanny is watching both family's children at the same time.  In your situation you just happen to be using someone else's nanny on days when they are not, correct?  I would agree $16/hr is too high, I would probably offer $14/hr.
