Mabel's Labels or Sharpie Marker?

Do you guys get fancy ready made labels like Mabel's Labels for your kids belongings for school/daycare or do you just use a good ole Sharpie Permenant Marker to write names/initials on things? DS is going into Kindergarten and I would love to get the cute labels for his things, but not sure if I want to spend the money when I have a perfectly fine Sharpie in the house

I've always used a Sharpie rub-a-dub laundry marker. It's cheap and easy to write on a tag.

I was going to just Sharpie DS's stuff, but Target now sells packs of Mabel's Labels...so I bought some.

We got labels from Oliver's Labels and they were way cheaper than the other sites I've found out there. Sharpie always washes off or I forget to keep relabeling things over and over.

Labels. I labeled ds blankets, shoes, jackets, etc. the lables are still there.

Sharpie.  I have not had sharpie wear off.  My son also would not want cutsie labels by the end of K.
