Eye experts

I'm too lazy to google and don't feel like going to the doctor but in the past few months randomly my eye will have that white spot like if you just looked at the sun and then it starts flashing. Afterwards I get a headache. Any ideas?

Re: Eye experts

  • I've never had glasses. I always had 20/20 vision but I'm thinking a trip to the eye dr. is in order.

  • I'm a dirty lurker and I have never posted here but when I saw this I had to reply. I had a very similar issue two years ago. It was so weird and I didn't do anything about it for a long time. I finally saw an ophthalmologist who said I had swollen retinal nerves in both eyes. A spinal tap later and I was diagnosed with idiopathic inter-cranial hypertension, which basically meant I had an excess of spinal fluid and it was putting pressure on my brain and causing swelling. I was shocked! The good news was it was treatable with a simple medication I took daily and eventually was able to taper off and haven't had problems since (I also took it while pregnant and breast feeding). I don't mean to scare you. My problem was rare and that symptom doesn't automatically mean you have this. I just wanted to share my story to encourage you to see an ophthalmologist (not an optometrist). Good luck :) (back to lurker status now)
