Tell me about endometrial biopsies please

I have the beta-3 integrin biopsy scheduled for next week and I always talk myself into getting freaked out about these things! I've had everything done, including hsg, saline sonography, hysteroscopy, Doppler u/s, etc. but this one sounds painful! And did your regular OB do it? Mine sounded unsure if she would be able to do it for me (ccrm said anyone should be able to do it, including nurse practitioners) so I was a little concerned about that too.. While we are on the pain subject, did anyone have a mammogram? How bad is it? Mines tomorrow. One more question... Any ideas on getting my siggy to update? I've tried about a dozen times and it never changes..it's been about a month.. TIA!

I worked myself up about it too but it turned out to be ok.  My RE actually did mine himself (which may be why it didn’t really hurt).  I was told to have a full bladder and take two Advil an hour before.  I hope you experience is the same as mine!

I have had two mammograms and I would say in my experience mammograms are worse than the E-tegrity test!  ...But I am a 34DD so there is a lot of squishing going on with me!

I had it done by my RE as well and it's not too bad.  Take some advil and a big breath.  You'll do great.  It's like a quick pinch.

No mammograms for me, sorry.  But Good Luck!

Never had the boob smasher but my mom said as long as you have boobage it doesn't hurt if you are an a or b it can def hurt.

The biopsy took 2 mins and hurt a lot but the nurse held my hand and that helped alot. Wear a pad I bled a lot after. My regular OB did it.

***sig*** My biopsy was done by my RE and no big deal at all. It was much easier than the hsg and saline sono. It lasted only a few seconds. I second the need for a pad and Tylenol beforehand would probably help. Good luck!

I've had the biopsy/scratch 3 times. I have to say it my least favorite test/procedure that I've been through. It's very short, only like 30-60 sec but I found it painful and highly uncomfortable every time. Take some Tylenol. I didn't bleed afterwards. My RE did it but was a bit of a dope about reading the instructions well, so I (after reading them a number of times) had to tell her what to do. Advice: read the instructions and understand them. My mammer-jammer wasn't painful just sort of strange feeling. I have C cups. Hope that helps.

I had the endometrial scratch/biopsy done.  I took tylenol or advil before it.  It definitely hurt but it was over in less than a minute.  My RE did it.  They do a scratch in all for quadrants and it's as fast as 1-  2 - 3 - 4.  RE counted for me and then was done.  I didn't bleed too much after but I have had some spotting during the first tri when may have been a little from this.  GL!

I also had the scratch before this last FET and the actual procedure was not painful but had alot of cramping on the day of after and then the bleeding began!! For like a week and one of the worst periods I ever had!! I chalked it up to hoping It would be my last period for at least 9 months so I dealt with it!
