Cookies in bags or as a "buffet" for birthday party?

I wanted to do cookies for DS's birthday party instead of cupcakes/cakes because it's just easier for us.  Would it be better to have them pre-packaged into small bags for the kids (e.g. 3 cookies or so) or to have them laid out buffet style for them to take?

  • I prefer bags.  That way, everyone gets the same amount and they're easily transported home.

  • With small children my vote is always hermetically sealed food :-p  But really, either is fine.

  • If the cookies are replacing the cake, just put them out buffet style.

  • Sorry, I was mentioning the buffet style and one of my friends said she wouldn't want another kid's potentially grubby hands touching the cookies that her kid would eat.  I just wanted to see what the general consensus was since I personally wouldn't care.

  • I would stack a few cookies in cute little muffin cups.

Go to a wedding in Southwestern Pennsylvania - you will likely find one.

Had one at my wedding and there was one at almost every single wedding I have ever been to in that part of PA.
