Any Dept stores sell maternity clothes?

Which department stores carry maternity clothes in store, not just online? I just refuse to pay an arm & a leg for clothes I will only wear for a short period of time. I'm starting to feel like a stuffed sausage in my regular pants and I need something nice to wear to work every day.

Macy's has motherhood, some Kohl's have maternity sections, Nordstroms, I think some JC Penny stores...that's what I can think of off the top of my head.

ETA: I just saw you don't want to spend a ton...if that's the case, check out Target, Old Navy, Gordman's...online shopping I have found is the best for maternity clothes. I just ordered 4 shirts and a pencil skirt from Old Navy for $66 with free shipping. On the other hand I got 2 pairs of dress pants at Macy's for $75!

  • Have you looked for any second hand maternity stores?  They're usually combined with second hand baby/children's clothes stores.

Ross has maternity clothes. I haven't been to scope it out myself but my mom would randomly go shopping for me and once she accidentally bought a maternity shirt. I saw the section last time. There might be some cheap finds in there is you have one near you.
  • Old Navy has had some pretty good sales lately. I just ordered jeans and some sweaters from there last night. I also went to a Motherhood outlet store over the weekend and got 3 pairs of dress pants for $40.

  • I got a really nice pair of jeans at Macy's for $29.95 this weekend. They had others that were around $45 and they had BOGO 50% sale, so there are deals to be had there. The other clothing wasn't that pricey. Honestly I find Kohl's to be more expensive. I also vote for checking out Old Navy, Target and second hand stores.

It varies by area - none of the department stores besides Kohl's and Target around here have any maternity clothes. And even at those two, selection is limited. I've been ordering off Old Navy and Gap websites and just returning whatever doesn't fit/I don't like. Not the best method, but its working for now.  :(
Agree. I've been in a few stores around here, which included Target. They had nothing or only a couple things in the store. I really didn't want to order online but it's the only option.

  • Alot of consignment stores or kids have great maternity clothes. Usually the nice ones only accept clothing in great condition too. Other than that, kohls, Macy's, target, old navy. Craigslist has great options too if you are ok with pre-owned. I got some stuff in great condition for an amazing price on Craigslist.
  • Old navy, target, Walmart, babies r us has a section now. There are quite a few options out there!

  • I stopped by the Goodwill near me and they didn't have a very large maternity section, but it was all pants and I managed to find 3 pairs of work pants and a pair of jeans; grand total: $17.94!

  • JcPenneys has maternity online and the stuff is priced in a reasonable manner. Plus you can return at local JCP.

  • Target and Kmart here does.

  • H&M! They sell online now too :)
  • Thrift stores!  We have Saver's near us and they do half off days on Monday holidays.  I went this week and got a nice ON sweater for $2, a Liz Lang for Target knit shirt for $1.50, a pair of gap work pants for $3 and a couple of random tee shirts for $1-2.

  • I second (fifth?) Old Navy. I got two shirts, a sweater, and a pair of jeans there for $60 the other day. I just got an email from them this morning that maternity styles are 25% off.

  • Maybe my giant ass is in the way, but nothing at Old Navy has ever fit me right. Glad someone can buy and wear their clothes.

I've been to a Ross and a Walmart in my area, and neither of them had any maternity clothes. I have yet to peek at the Target and Kmart, but I'm hoping I'll be successful there.
I could never fit into Old Navy pants before. I think the maternity styles are a little more forgiving.

Both Targets near me have a decent maternity selection, so hopefully you have some luck there!

  • Same with Target and Old Navy. Also using second hand stores. I just googled second hand maternity clothing and it came up with a bunch of stores in my area. (Well the nearest major city since I'm rural).

Also, I recommend getting together with any friends you have who are all thinking about having babies and making a maternity clothes bin. We have one that is being passed around my group of friends and it's great! I suddenly have a huge selection of clothes, some more worn than others, but its great to have options.

  • Target has a nice line I got some there couple weeks ago
  • Surprisingly quite a few department stores have maternity clothes. Macy's, Target, Sears, Wallmart, JCPenny, Kohls. There is also a bunch of clothing retailers that carry a variety of maternity wear online and in store: Old Navy, H&M, The Loft.

One of the best resources for finding stylish maternity clothes on a budget is https://inexpensivematernityclothes.org/. Lots of great ideas and suggestions there!
  • I have gotten most of my stuff at Burlington Coat Factory. Jeans (somehow) fit me and are $14.99 and basic tees are $5.99 so I stocked up. A lot of scarves for me this winter with jeans and tees!

  • I am going to try to yoga-pants the crap out of this pregnancy. Black lulu wunder unders are my new bf, so mot sure on pants. But for tops, Old Navy is good. If online doesn't scare you too bad, try Amazon for some really good deals for no-brainier size stuff like sweaters & t-shirts.
And PS. I just got my first maternity bra this weekend from pea in the pod and it was so comfy that I ripped the tags off in the dressing room and wore it right out of the store. Peace out, underwire!

My cousin and I have done this. She was pregnant first so I borrowed her clothes as well as added all that I got from stores and other people too. Then have it back to her for her second pregnancy and she added to it as well. Now that I have it there is pretty much all sizes of maternity for all the seasons. All I have to do is replace the tank tops to put underneath tops and get two dress pants as they have shortened over the uses.

I also check out two consignment shops. They are high end so the clothes are within a years style and are in excellent condition. Most of them are brand new and $4-$6 each!

  • I just went to Kohls when they had one of their 30% extra sales. The jeans I bought were actually really comfortable and ended up being cheaper then the ones i picked up from Target after the sale plus the extra 30% off. Watch the sales :)
  • I get mine online from Asos and can always find good deals.
  • I've had the best luck with maternity jeans at consignment shops. I got a pair of gap jeans that fit, and look like they were never worn for $6!
  • Most second hand shops have a maternity section too (Salvation Army and good will) Or if you have a once upon a child they might have some.

I got 4 pairs or khaki pants from Salvation Army for 12$ all gap or motherhood brand
  • Macy's sells Motherhood, Pea in the Pod, Splendid.
