Ever get a prenatal massage?

I have a gift cert for a massage. I got one about a year ago and still have money left over on the card.
I've never had a prenatal massage and don't know if it is worth it or should I just wait until after I heal from my RCS?
I know how my back and hips killed towards the end of pregnancy, but how horrible my back, neck and shoulders hurt post partem from breastfeeding. It is a toss up.
The place allows prenatal massages after 1st tri, so I'm set until delivery.

I had one while I was pregnant with DD and have one scheduled at the end of this month when DH and I go away alone together  It's the same as a normal massage, you just don't lay on your stomach or back.

I've done early pg, late pg, and post partum... My favorite by far was the late pregnancy prenatal. It made it easier to get through those last few weeks. ETA: my place has specialized cushions that allow you to lie on your stomach, so maybe that was part of the thrill, too not all places do that.

I had my first one a week ago and it was very nice. Especially if you have a gift card or if you can find a groupon or something ... I think I've had 3 or 4 official massages including that prenatal one and it was definitely my favorite. I think the massage therapist was more apt to really pamper me knowing I was preggo or something. It won't be a very deep massage as that isn't good for baby, but it was quite relaxing and refreshing at this halfway mark of pregnancy.

I had one with dd, and although it was relaxing, I should have just waited until postpartum. I guess it depends what you want to get out of the massage, if you want some time to relax and unwind then I say use the gift certificate for a prenatal, but If you prefer a deep massage that really focuses on the problem areas ( like I do) then I say save it for later. IMO

I had a prenatal massage a few weeks ago and it was lovely, helped with my back pain.  I plan to do it again in the third trimester, maybe a few more times if it helps!

I went every two weeks in the 3rd tri with DD. and then did a few massages postpartum starting around 4 weeks after birth. Life saving for me! I have had 3 so far this pregnancy and have started increasing the frequency.

Yes! They're fantastic! The cushion even has a place for your bump to be supported while lying on your tummy!

I'm having one or two a week at the moment but its massage therapy, not just some lovely prenatal massage. Sometimes she has to be pretty tough and that's not my favourite but hey-ho. I'm sure I'd be way more excited about them if they didn't hurt. Go for it, give it a shot!

I had one about 6 weeks before my son was born. It was AMAZING. I plan to schedule one a few weeks prior to my RCS this time. (If I waited until after, I honestly don't know when I would find time.)

Agreed - now is the perfect time to pamper yourself. I had one early on and it was wonderful. I'm planning on scheduling another one for my birthday weekend in a couple of weeks and at least one more in 3rd tri.

I've had two so far and didn't care for them. I typically get deep tissue massages for my back issues, but no one will do them during pregnancy. I didn't find a prenatal massage to be beneficial for me.
