Gripe Water

Does anybody have any experience with Gripe Water? Do you recommend it? Alcohol-free or No?

Re: Gripe Water

  • I used it a lot with DD but I honestly can't tell you if it actually worked. I really felt like no matter what I did, she was gassy for like the first 8 weeks, then she just kinda got over it. We did eventually have her on reflux medicine too, so maybe that helped as well? But I think we used the alcohol free stuff.

  • We tried it with DD, but the mylicon drops worked better for her.
  • We use it every once in a blue moon for DS, but the first 6 weeks, nothing worked for him - not even the mylicon gas drops. Still, I think it's nice to have the gas drops and the gripe water on hand in the house, just in case it does the trick.

  • We used it mostly for hiccups as well. Sometimes it helped her stomach & sometimes it didn't. I think it's definitely good to have on hand though.

  • Similar to pp I gave it to my dd for hiccups and it worked, but not sure how well it actually worked for her gas. But I have friends that swear by it.

  • Gripe water for hiccups, gas drops for gas. Used them, loved them, will use them again if LO needs it.
