Just a vent.
My last day is Friday. I start my new job on the 16th.
1 1/2 weeks ago, I had a customer come in, completely disappointed by the competition asking us to furnish their new office entirely in 6 weeks. I can do that cheaply with cheap quick ship furniture, but not in the nicer, higher end that they want. That's almost unheard of, but I and one of the designers are going to make it happen in quick ship programs, at a killer price, and in kick ass, modern furnishings. Again - almost unheard of. They will be placing the order before I leave.
Will I get a dime from it? Nope!
But I love these two ladies. They are super cool, fun, and good decision makers. I love working with people like this and that's why I love my job and operate the way I do. I work for the joy of making my customer happy and designing/selling cool offices. The money comes second, but dammit... I still have to admit, I wish I got a little kick back for the hard work I'm doing to make this happen before I leave. The designer and I really kicked some design butt these past two weeks!
