We went on vacation for a week. We had to share a room with our 18 month old. We continued our bedtime story telling ritual and put him down in a pack in play. Well, that didn't work so well. He slept in bed with us for that week. Now at home and 3 weeks later, he is still in our bed. It we put him in his room and let him CIO he screams like he is being murdered for an hour and a half at the most. My DH took it upon himself to change to a toddler bed. I mean, seriously dude?! So now we are reading him to sleep in the toddler bed and he wakes up at 1 am screaming bloody murder and guess where he ends up? Any suggestions? I don't know if we should go back to the crib ( too confusing for him) or stick it out.
Re: We really screwed up #new parent mistakes, lol
We're about to go on vacation and I'm fearing the same thing! DS is an awesome sleeper and a year ago was able to sleep in his PNP while on vacation, but he might be too aware now and get that he's not in his normal bed. I'm going to be watching your post for people's suggestions just in case!
Without having any experience to base this on, I might try going back to his crib. DS is just shy of 18 months and he doesn't seem anywhere ready to be out of his crib (and I'm holding on to that crib as long as we can - i.e., until he learns to climb out of it!).
