mini crib?

Im considering getting a mini crib because our nursery is so small.

Has anyone else thought about going this route? What do you think?

Have any of you used one with a previous baby?

Im wondering if the baby will outgrow it before he is ready to switch to a twin bed (mini cribs dont go through the middle toddler bed stage and go straight to converting into a twin - I think)

A crib isn't really going to take up any different room than a twin, it's just that it's wider and shorter vs more narrow at the headboard but longer, kwim?  So I'd just get a regular size crib, personally.

Our nursery is also pretty small, but we opted to get a regular sized crib for life type crib. I was in a baby store the other day and saw some mini cribs that convert into twin sized beds, but I'm not sure how much they were (and I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend). 

The crib we got converts to a toddler bed, and then a full-sized bed. It just seemed more logical to us to get the bigger crib because it was the better deal.

We had a mini crib for my DS, loved it! He was in it until he was 2.5 years old and would have stayed in longer but I had surgery and couldn't lift him so he needed to be able to get out of bed himself.
We skipped the toddler bed stage and converted it to a twin (toddler beds seem silly to me). Plus I don't think a small child needs a full size bed, which is what a full size crib converts to.
