Not much happening here.  I have one more day of estrogen and progesterone, then hoping for a period by the end of the week.  I have to call my RE on CD1 so she can check my lining; assuming everything is fine, I'm hoping I'll be starting Lupron within a few weeks.

QOTW: As mentioned, I do have today off.  My sister is coming over to make and can tomatillo-chipotle salsa with me.  I spent Saturday and Sunday on the couch pretty much the whole day, since crutching is hard and I am trying to keep my foot elevated as much as possible.  I watched "Adam's Rib" with Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, read all of "When You Are Engulfed in Flames" by David Sedaris (hilarious) and started "Mudbound" by Hillary Jordan (so far so good), spent a ridiculous amount of time on the Internet, and took naps.  I'm getting a little stir-crazy so I'm glad to have my sister over and to have something to do.  As for summer, I'm more of a fall person, but I'll miss the long days.  It's hard to get up in the morning when it's dark outside!

Tonight will be night 5 of stims for me. I had blood work yesterday and my estradiol level was 112 and my LH and progesterone levels were "nice and low" according to the nurse who called me with the results. They changed up my meds last night after my blood work, and starting last night I am now on 150 mg of follistim and 150 mg of menopur. Turns out the menopur is the yuckiest injection yet. Not a fan. I have the same combo/dosage of meds tonight, and then tomorrow AM at 8 I have an appointment for an ultrasound and more blood work. Thinking ER will be early next week, but will see what info I can get at my appointment tomorrow before getting too far ahead of myself guessing dates. ***QOTW: we have had a busy weekend so far. Saturday was a bridal shower for a close friend. My wife is a bridesmaid and planned most of the shower. There was lots of planning, crafting, baking, errand running, etc on Friday night, and then set up and clean up on Saturday. So that consumed most of the first part of our weekend, but it was a great success for a great friend. Yesterday I had a dr's appointment in the AM, ran some errands, cleaned up the kitchen, folded and put away three loads of laundry, other assorted house chores, then my wife and I went out to lunch, did a little shopping, and then took my car to the car wash and vacuumed it out. It was a busy day but it felt productive! Today will be more of a lazy day. We are having our new sleeper sofa delivered today, so we have to wait for it. Not sure what we will do after that yet... I am with @ball.and.chain, I will miss longer days. I am not looking forward to the period of time in the late fall/early winter when I drive into work in the dark in the AM and drive home from work in the dark in the PM.

    Me - 30, My wife - 31 , Together for 10 yrs - Married August 2012

    5 medicated IUIs w/ RE (March - July 2013) = BFN

    Fresh IVF Cycle in September 2013 resulted in 18 mature eggs, 16 fertilized, 12 made it to day 5. Transfer of 2 Grade A blastocysts on 9/15/13, and 10 embryos in the freezer!      *****BFP on 9/25/13 - betas: @10dp5dt = 232; @12dp5dt = 465; @15dp5dt = 1,581   *********William George born June 4, 2014*********
  • We are 5 days post IUI. We are trying not to think and talk about it all the time. It is helping I think. But of course the first few days are usually the easiest because you are so far from testing or possible symptoms or anything.
I also started birth control pills again last night since I'm on cycle day 3. Because of my endo, the RE wants me on birth control for at least 6-8 weeks before IVF, which will hopefully happen late November, assuming of course we don't get a BFP before then.

QOTD: Saturday we went to visit M's mom and sis about 1.5 hours from Toronto. Yesterday we helped friends move. Today we are doing a low key day around the house taking care of household tasks.
    ****loss discussed*****

We're queer. I'm 33, have severe stage 4 endo, and had both fallopian tubes removed. My love ("Manada" on the boards, 32) was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. We did Partner IVF (my eggs, her uterus). We lost our twins Tavin and Casey at 21 weeks gestation.

    Our IUIs
with @Manada: IUI# 1-7 (December 2012- September 2013) all BFN. Tried natural, femara, clomid, puregon/follistim, clomid and menopur combo, both the ovidrel and HCG triggers.

    Our IVFs:
IVF #1 my eggs November/December 2013: Cancelled IVF due to poor response

    IVF #2 my eggs/Manada's uterus January/February 2014
BCPs and lupron overlap Stimmed: 1/22-2/2: Bravelle and Menopur (dosage ranged from B300 and M150 to B375 and M150 to B300 and M225)
2/4 retrieved 10 eggs. Endo was much worse than expected. Only 3 eggs fertilized; February 7 transferred two day 3 embryos, froze one. All great condition.
    BFP eve of 6dp3dt; Beta 1 (11dp3dt): 110; Beta 2 (13dp3dt): 175; Beta 3 (15dp3dt): 348; Beta 4 (19dp3dt): 2222; Beta 5 (21dp3dt): 4255
    1st ultrasound (3/6  6w 1d): TWINS!!!! Twin A measuring 6w1d with a heartbeat of 118bpm. Twin B measuring 6w0d with a heartbeat of 113bpm.

***July 18, 2014 we lost our beautiful babies at 21 weeks gestation. They were born too early. Tavin Sara T. and Casey Elizabeth T. are beautiful and precious and we will love them and miss them forever.***

@ball.and.chain - FX all goes off without a flaw!

@KH826 - Oh you are getting so close!! I am FX for a zillion lovely, mature eggs.

    @healz + @manada - Hoping for that 'surprise' BFP!!

@doodah1013 - Sorry for your BFN :( Hope the Margarita soothes you a bit. :(

    AFM...

Last week my u/s showed a spankin' new cyst on my left ovary which forced a 1-week delay for this cycle. I had a little cry over it (even though in the scheme of this process, 1 week is nothing - it of course feels like *everything* when you get that phone call). I kept my Lupron at 10 and continued for another week. Tomorrow I have another u/s to check the situation, and if things look good, we will proceed with my rescheduled FET date of 9/23, starting my estrogen patches and decreasing Lupron to 5.

Here's the silver lining: 9/23 is my sister Megan's birthday. And my due date? June 11th - MY birthday! So, perhaps it's kismet. Kinda fun if it works.

QOTW: J opened cafe #3 this weekend and I have been doing various things to help her with that (worked a 5-hour shift on my feet - oh the appreciation I have for her hard work all the time!); and I worked on a new Liege Waffle program for one of her other shops. (I am stuffed with waffles). Today we are going to Bumbershoot, a huge music festival that is right in Seattle at the Space Needle. We are excited to see Alt-J and Deerhunter, among others.

I'll miss the LONG days and the epic, unlike-anything-I've-seen-in-my-20-years-here summer we've had in Seattle. Our longest day is 16 hours of daylight! Conversely, in winter it's not light until 9, dark by 4, and it's kind of a twilight all day in the really gray times. So, that will be an adjustment.

    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

It's been a long road to here...
    Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!
    June'12 - First RE Visit
    Sept. '12 - Tubes removed
    Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

  • Well sad news that we are on CD3 :-(  We tested early on Friday and got a BFN :-( and then got AF on Saturday which was a surprise because I shouldn't start until next week.  We were sad, but for the last two weeks I have tried not to get my hopes up anyway.
doodah1013---I was hoping to be preggo buddies
We are on board to try again next month.

QOTD:  My DW and I are both off today.  She is on vacation this entire week--which is going to be a staycation with a honey do list.  She is so not excited!  Her work requires her to take a week off at a time each year, this year it just wasn't in the budget to go anywhere.  So she gets to work hard all week while I work.  We are having a few friends over later to cook out, pretty low key weekend.

@2mamaz - I am sorry to hear about your cyst and your set back. Glad to hear that it is only 1 week, and that the new dates you might be dealing with seem to be meaningful! :) Selfishly, I am sad that it seems that neither you nor ball.and.chain will be having your transfers the same week as me anymore... I was very excited about our pregnancy pact. At any rate, what is meant to be will be for all of us. Hugs! :)

  • @trisholio and @doodah1013 sorry to hear about your BFNs. I have a feeling I will be joining you here shortly.

We are at 14dpiui. I ended up testing at 10, 11 and 12dpiui and all were BFNs. I kept being told not to give up hope yet. If my period does not start by Wednesday morning, then I go for blood work. It is expected tomorrow and I have a feeling it is on the way :/. I am still holding out hope, but in the back of my mind I'm almost 100% sure CD1 is around the corner. If so, then we will move right into the next cycle.

QOTW: C's family is involved in a horse park/camp and we have trail rides every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, so that is what we did all weekend. I am off work today and she has every Monday off. It has been a low key day since we are both exhausted from the weekend. We picked out new bowling balls for our upcoming league and did some grocery shopping.

  • Hey y'all.  I changed my username for privacy reasons.  I'm the other girl from Indiana who was obsessing over her IUI aaaaaaaaaaaand update:

I tested on 9 dpo - BFN.  I tested again on 11 dpo - BFN.  My guess for this cycle = BFN.  I'm going to try once again on Friday but it ain't lookin' good, ladies.  It was really a long shot from the beginning with my tiny follicles and nearly expired sperm tank.  I think I did the IUI way too early.  I was thinking I had pregnancy symptoms (don't we all?) and now I'm thinking I should get tested for a UTI.  Darned urge to pee hasn't left and if it's not pregnancy hormones then it has to be something else.

Not sure when to expect AF.  My periods are already super wonky so it's impossible to say when the ol' hag will arrive.  I guess I need to just push this out of my mind and move on.  Still, I'll continue to avoid alcohol and caffeine until the red starts a-flowin'.

Time to start planning number 2, hopefully with better success!

  • I'm late...really late, but I was backpacking. @Trisholio and @Doodah, I'm SO sorry for your BFN's. Even though I was on the trail, I was thinking of you both.

@2Mamaz, sorry to hear about the cyst. Keeping my fingers crossed that this cycle works for you and you get the cool birthday due date.

    Thinking of everyone else!

I'll do my check in on Monday :)

TTC our first. Married to, and madly in love with, my beautiful wife. Living with our fur baby and enjoying 19 nieces and nephews.
