The NN post reminded me of my love for the name Tony...but I don't really love Anthony/Anton/Antonio. Would you use just Tony? Could it work as a standalone?

The one I'd use if I had to would be Anthony, I guess. But I don't love it as much as Tony. WDYT?

Bonus: MNs for just Tony?

Tony is great, but I wouldn't use it as a stand alone name.

This is exactly me. If DH didnt have any say in LO's name it would have been Anthony.  I think Tony works though. Is Antonio any better? I had a huge crush on a kid named Antonio in like 3rd grade.

I don't like Tony OR Anthony.  But I think it can stand on its own.  I think any name can, though- if you like it, use it!

I would use just Tony.  My DH cannot stand naming a child something you aren't going to call them, aka naming them Anthony then calling them Tony. I think it would be fine as a stand alone name.

My husband's name is just Tony and he has always loved it. However, there were instances when he was little that teachers actually convinced him that his name was Anthony and that Tony was just a nickname. I like it though.
