  • Welcome! How old is your LO? I'm on mobile, so I can't see if it's in your sight. My tsh level was all over the place for awhile after having DD and then again after my loss in November. Hopefully yours will stabilize soon!

Im sorry for your loss. I had a loss at 8 1/2 weeks in Nov 2011 and then conceived DS the following month. LO will be turning one on 9/24. I was feeling really awful and went to the Dr at the end of March. I'd been feeling run down and exhausted since my son was born, but thought it was normal. My TSH was through the roof at 214. It's taken 6 months to get it at just above two, but my Dr. indicated it needed to be below two in order to conceive as it could cause cause developmental delays. ETA: I've never had a thyroid problem before now, so it's all new to me. Have you been dealing with hypothyroid for a long time?

  • Hello. I also recently joined the board before starting to TTC. I hope that you are able to find the right balance of medication so that you can begin.

I was diagnosed about 4 or 5 mos before we started ttc my DD. After you get your synthroid dosage right, you should feel much better. When you conceive, you'll be monitored roughly every 6 weeks to mak sure your levels are still good. I had my dosage increased 3 or 4 times while I was pregnant with DD and then the dosage was decreased after I gave birth. Still, it took a little time to stabilize again. 216 is really high! You must have been exhausted!

Going to be talking to OBGYN next month when we go since it will be 6 months we have been TTC since MC.  See what happens.

  • I am knocking on the door of 35 in two weeks..starting ivf soon..I thought my thyroid was not working correctly either but I have been tested and within normal range..I do have symptoms and my mom was just diagnosed a year ago with hypo..I thought for sure that was my problem but I guess not..heres to hoping you get your dosage regulated soon..:)
  • normal range is under 3.0 ( this is the new standard some doctors are behind on this)  Most RE's want you under 2 for TTC... It took me 9 months to get mine down close to 1 and then I was succesful ( although I loss the baby).  Make sure you see a good endocronologists and take care of yourself.  Don't eat Soy products, raw brocolli or cauliflower and you might benefit from a gluten free diet.  You might have to push your doctor for med increases... I started at 25mcg of synthroid and worked my way to 100 mcg...made a HUGE difference!  Good luck!

I'm very sorry for your loss. I have noticed a huge difference from when i started .75 mcg of thyroxine to now with a dose of .125. My goal is below 2, I was still above two at last check. I'll look into the gluten free diet, I wondered how my diet should change. My PCP won't send me to an endo because according to the policy of the hospital system I'm currently in, hypothyroidism c Is managed by pcp's, not endocrinologists. I think it's ridiculous, to be honest. Especially oven how out of whack my thyroid was...
