Thanks for all the good thoughts, vibes, etc ladies.
Even though I know this is the right choice for my family- a shorter commute, less hectic schedule- it was still difficult to decide to leave my current position. I have been there for five years and until recently, I loved my job. I am going to miss the people there a lot. I also struggled with the fact that I am leaving at a very busy time and my current boss (who just got reassigned to be my boss) is a close friend who just had a baby and is currently on leave. But she and I had a long talk about it and she encouraged me to accept the new position.
So very mixed feelings, but at the end of the day I think this new job is the right one for right now.
I start in 3 weeks!
