@FuckyDad

Can you toss some of that logical thinking my way?

My parental units seem to have a haunted bathroom.  I lived in that same house from age 6 until I was 20, so you can imagine that I'm pretty familiar with the place, and this is definitely strange.  In the last...oh...two or so years two things have started to happen.

One, the water in the guest bath will suddenly turn on, full force, when nobody is in the bathroom.  It happened when I was home alone on two separate occasions.  The fixture is dated - it hails from the '80s, so it takes a bit of muscle to turn the knobs and you've got to give them a good half-turn to get the water going.  When I investigated, the knobs had actually been turned as far as they possibly could be, water full blast.

The second is that one particular door will randomly and inexplicably open despite not being a door that typically swings open on its own.  It will swing from an almost completely closed position (door touching the doorjamb but not actually clicked shut) and open ALL the way - until it touches the wall.  I have witnessed this while I was alone, at 4 am, with no one about and no other doors or windows open.  I was innocently curled up on the couch watching America's Worst Tattoos.

Please to give me a reasonable explanation, even if it's bullshit.  Just make it sound believable, yeah.

  • Water Pressure, Air Pressure.

    Basically, your parents' house sucks. Plus, Florida.

  • so does the shower fixture have a hand held head? Have occasionally turned the water off on the valve attavhed to the hand held part (while the shower water is still on and exerting pressure) and forgotten. Full pressure results when that valve gives way.
