It's kind of a rolling process. I never clean the whole house at once anymore since having a kid. I just do whatever's the most emergent when I have a chance. The floor gets cleaned the most often because E is always leaving crumbs everywhere. I love having a hand vacuum for this purpose, and for the high chair.
Saturday mornings I spend cleaning and doing laundry. Other nights I just keep up with the dishes and tidying but save "heavy" cleaning for once a week.
I usually just clean every other week, sprucing up in between. I just cleaned the bathroom today and the smell of the toilet cleaner was overwhelming!! The sad thing is that even though we live in a tiny house (900 sq ft) I can't clean it from top to bottom since I got my BFP. I'm so lame.
I feel like my answer to this question prior to being pregnant was once a week - currently I'm rolling at about once a trimester and/or if my DH invited someone over!
Dusting rarely gets done, vacuuming is almost daily with 2 messy kids. Laundry probably twice a week, dishes everyday, and toilets probably once a month unless we have company.
I vacuum our hardwoods every other day and mop/dust once a week. Countertops, bathroom counters/sinks and tables get wiped every day with cleaning wipes. Couch gets vacuumed once a week and couch blankets (for the cats) get washed at the same time. Laundry gets done once a week, fridge gets cleaned once a week (same day as grocery day).
We also have chickens, so their coop gets totally cleaned out once a month, but freshened up every 1-2 wks.

I'm loving the replies. When I lived alone in my apartment I cleaned once a week top to bottom even though it hardly had any dust or was barely messy. Since buying my house and have H live with me I clean top to bottom once every two weeks and honestly even then it's not that messy/ dusty.
I had energy today so I cleaned the pantry and refrigerator out and cleaned inside and outside windows.
I voted SS. I don't clean the who house at once. I clean bathrooms one day, bedrooms another, etc. kitchen gets cleaned up daily. It only takes a half hour a day and is way more manageable to me than doing one big clean.
After having DD we had someone start coming in once a week. Not sure if we will still do once a week or go to once every two weeks once this baby comes because we will have two in daycare. Haven't gotten that far yet. Also need to find a new cleaning lady as we aren't thrilled with her after 10 months of cleaning...

Can I come live with you? MH is a landscaper and I swear he brings a mountaine of dirt home with him. There are always crumbs, dirt, cat hair and other stuff on the floor no matter how often I sweep or dustbust. Ugh!

Lol u guess it will change when LO comes. We buy heavy duty furnace filters so I think that helps. But honestly even when I had a dog it wasn't that bad then either.
I clean the kitchen counters, empty/load the dishwasher, take out the garbage, and straighten up (pick up the playroom, put things away, etc.) every day.
On Sundays, I send DH with DD to the park so I can vacuum, dust, change the sheets, clean the bathrooms, that kind of stuff.
I wish, wish, wish, wish, WISH we could afford a cleaning service. I hate cleaning.
we have a cleaning lady come once a week and she cleans the entire house

My floors get done all the time! I sweep and vacuum almost daily. Mopping at least once a week. Spot cleaning the floor all the time. I dust a lot, I can't stand dust! Bathrooms happen a few times a week.
I scrub every two weeks unless things need to be done. I spot clean the hard floors all the time because of DD spills. I pick up around the house every day and do laundry every day. So I clean something all the time, but thorough bathroom and major scrub downs happen about every two weeks since I went back to teaching for the school year.
I'm afraid to answer! We usually clean when we see the dirt, which is bad I know. But we both work and come home late and we're usually out on the weekends. The good thing is that it takes a while for our house to get dirty since we're never there.

I'm a SS. My nanny does some light housekeeping so the house gets dusted once a week and floors get some 2x per week. The other cleaning is on no particular schedule and sort of just gets done when it gets done.

I have to sweep and mop the kitchen usually twice a week because our white tile floor shows every piece of dog hair and dirt, but everything else gets done once a week. I tend to do a couple things every day (vacuum, dust, etc) and then do a good deep cleaning once a month.
We also have a cleaning service. She comes once a week. And honestly, there is nothing better then coming home to a spotless house without having to do the work. DH and I almost never fight and I think this is a big reason why.
Am I the only one that has to clean daily? This post makes my eye twitch.
Me too. With two kids I literally clean everyday, all day. Never "need" to dust, just because surfaces are constantly being wiped down from sticky little handprints. Vacuum & sweep every single night, not because I'm OCD, it just needs it. Bathrooms need to be cleaned often with 2 boys....kitchen is cleaned and wiped down several times a day. Only thing we are bad at keeping up on is laundry. My husband does it on Sundays, but we need to start doing it more because we are NEVER caught up.
We have a cleaning service come ever other week for deep cleaning (scrubs showers, toilets, dusts, floors, kitchen deep clean, etc.). It's seriously my favorite day of the week when she comes. We do general cleaning, laundry, vacuuming as needed, etc. in between.

I do something everyday. Vacuum a few times a week (was raised o do it daily but with DD that's hard), if I dont do a few things a day then it will pile up too far for me. So I'll do like the toilets and baseboards one day, dust another, wipe out the fridge another, clean windows another....just keep it moving and fresh.
Re: How often do you clean your house?
I may try & do laundry this weekend.
