Random bouts of nausea?

Is it "normal" to have random nausea still at 13w(4d)?  It started going down after 10w, but I've had 2 times where I've thrown up at work now since 12w and I didn't actually throw up at all before, just felt like it.  I'm still taking Zofran - last weekend it didn't help at all.

I've never been pregnant before I just was wondering if it's normal for it to be essentially getting "worse?"

My exhaustion has gotten better...

Re: Random bouts of nausea?

  • When I was pregnant with DS, I got random bouts of nausea until past 20 weeks...  So, yes it's normal.  Unfortunately for some women morning sickness lasts the entire pregnancy.  I'm 11w1d and my m/s actually just started getting worse.  I threw up over the weekend when I hadn't before this pregnancies.  It's strange how to comes and goes, gets better and worse.  But it's nothing to worry about :)

  • Yes totally normal. I seem to remember 13 weeks being the magic number with DD but yet here I am at 13 w 3d and still struggling with nausea. Some women are unfortunate enough to have it the whole time. I'm hoping ours subsides too! My boobs are also still killing me!

  • Sorry about your nausea still.  I am very glad to see you got more energy now, cause right now I am sooo tired all the time.  I will be happy when I don't feel like I need a nap in the afternoon while still at work.
Hang in there, hope it gets better for you.

  • I'm 13w4d and other than a few days during week 12 the nausea has been intense and consistent. All day. I find the beginning of each week is worse but I'm just grasping at finding a pattern at this point. Some predictability would be nice but so far it doesn't seem that way. Hang in there. I'm hoping week 14 is magical for us since it hasn't been week 12 or 13 as I'd hoped. :0)
  • Thanks!!! I'm actually fine with being nauseous as long as it means my babies are ok.  I guess in my head I thought that nausea got worse with my beta numbers increasing and then they leveled off at 12weeks.  SO "rationally" I thought maybe they were going back down and it was making me nauseous?

  • Its been happening to me a lot lately as well. Before it was constant queasiness, but now I'll feel okay and then all of a sudden feel like death. I've been gagging a lot more as well.

  • I just had about the same thing happen at 12w2d and was really surprised. I've felt better since then but who knows. This pregnancy is completely different than the first!

  • I am still getting bouts of nausea. Luckily I haven't been sick but I still get nauseous randomly. A friend of mine had it all through out her pregnancy. She was in meds all the time. But having extra energy seems to help me be able to deal with it. Good luck and keep those saltines handy!
