Insomnia

Is anyone else having issues sleeping? I'm sure it's not hormones anymore but I can't seem to get to sleep at night? I have a video monitor and dd has been sleeping pretty good so im not worried about her, but this nonsense is making for some tough mornings. I'm afraid to take anything cause what if I don't hear lo!? Ugh.

Re: Insomnia

  • YES! The past few weeks have been terrible for me. This was my worst pregnancy symptom so every night It's like a flash back lol. I know that I'm not pregnant, but seriously this insomnia can go away any time now! I agree about not wanting to take anything.

  • I get it on and off. I had it pretty bad when DD was around 8 weeks old. I ended up taking some melatonin for maybe three nights 30 mins before I wanted to fall asleep. It helps reset your circadian rhythm. It made a bit of a difference. I am definitely a much lighter sleeper now too.

I didn't have it during pregnancy. It sucks.

  • I didn't find it helped before pregnancy but melatonin is def worth a shot! Here's hoping it turns around!! Britt1430- I do the same! It's like my body is so excited to sleep it wakes me up to let me know she's still sleeping! Although sttn is so rare here... Good luck to you mamas!
  • And nodoubtvw, I was that way preggo too but didn't mind so much cause at least I could watch TV and lounge, not getting up for LO to chase her around. Something to look forward to with the next pregnancy!

I can only hope that I enjoy it the same way you did for our second child because it was terrible. I had to go to work early in the morning with a 30 min drive which didn't help any. I won't have to next time.

  • I do keep myself up sometimes now.  She likes to sleep on her belly.  I was reallyyy bad when she first started. I would watch her on the monitor and run in to flip her over whenever she went on her belly.  I have gotten better but when she rolls onto her belly I have to check to make sure I at least see an ear.If I can see an ear that means her head is to the side.  I drive myself nuts checking and rechecking to make sure I see that ear.

She is finally sleeping thru the night which makes it worse for me.  I Love that she is sleeping thru the night but it adds to me not sleeping. I have to get use to not hearing her every couple of hours.

When I was pregnant I didn't sleep because I was uncomfortable, when she was a newborn I didn't sleep because she didn't sleep, and now that she sleeps I can't sleep because she sleeps too quietly.  Yes it's my mommy insanity but I am getting better
