Hi friends: 

This board probably gets a lot of "Intro" type posts & though these posts are mostly all the same, it feels impolite to jump right in without one. I figured I'd rip the band-aid off and get it over with. 

I got pregnant for the first time in June after going off hormonal BC in February. I was using the MyCycles app to track my fertile days, but wasn't "charting" or anything like that, although I've read TCOYF and attempted charting before to TTA. First cycle that we "tried" I got pregnant. You might think this is weird, but I knew immediately we had conceived. DH was so thrilled. I tested as soon as I knew that I could and got a positive. 

Based on my estimated O date (very estimated, since I wasn't charting) I should have been 8w at my first appointment. But at that first appointment, the OB's POAS test barely turned blue. The embryo measured 4w3d, so I just figured my dates were off because the heart was detected, beating and things looked good. Levels came back and progesterone was way low, so started supplementing with Crinone 8%. Second appointment ultrasound revealed a 7w4d old baby with no heartbeat. My doctor's guess is that there was an early chromosomal abnormality, hence the low early progesterone levels, and the Crinone kept the baby growing for as long as it possibly could before eventually it could develop no further. I had a D&C last Wednesday. 

I'm 26 years old, DH is 27. I don't think I want to try again for at least four cycles. In the meantime I want to lurk here and support you guys and learn as much as I can for when I do try. This board is like, a fountain of knowledge and support that can be found nowhere else on the Internet. I joined the beloved FF yesterday and have stocked my Amazon cart with Vitex, Nettle tea, and an OPK for purchase when AF returns. Maybe this charting dropout can be rehabilitated. 

Other stuff: I'm a runner and have done three half marathons; was training for my fourth when I got my BFP. Gained ten pounds over nine weeks of being KU and will be trying to get rid of it. I have my own side business as an editor and literary consultant which I have sorely been neglecting since the ordeal of this summer, but if any of you write I'd love to see your stuff.  We have a purebred Australian shepherd who is three and we are in the process of rescuing another little puppy who can maybe help put my heart back together. I read so much. Politics and pop culture are my other two big interests. Right now we live in a big city but we're always scheming to get out. 

But enough about me...

    Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss. I hoe you find the support you need here. Everyone here is amazing. Many people are TTA (myself included) for many reason. Feel free to join in the conversations. A word of caution against Vitex; Does your doctor know you're taking it? It can be dangerous and has been known to do some messed up things to people's bodies. I would hate for it to go wrong for you.

    @uneek1323 I haven't started taking it yet; I was going to wait a few cycles before taking anything besides prenatals and maybe Nettle tea to try to regulate. The research I did on it was cursory and on an impulse so I will definitely talk to my doc before I start. If you have particulars that you think I should know I am all ears. Thanks for the heads up!

    Welcome and sorry you have to be here. I'm also new and recently intro'd. I think it will help to be active with this amazing group of women. I hope when you decide to TTC again, it is quick and your stay here isn't too long.
    Started TTC August 2012. BFP 10/17/12...natural MC on 10/23/12, Missing our little bean every day!  11/13-started seeking help at fertility clinic. Me: 29 (ovulation/menstrual irregularities, HSG clear), DH: 31 (1% morphology, rest is normal)

    d&c 5/21/13... Still Healing, Still Standing... 

    MMC discovered 10/2/2013, TWINS... d&c 10/7/2013.  I still miss you, little ones. 

    Surgery December 2013 to remove a 10+cm fibroid... Open myomectomy. Benched for 3-9 months... 
    Will TTC summer Summer 2014 we hope!

    Dear God, Since I couldn't hold my little one in my lap and tell him about you, could you hold him in your lap and tell him about me?
