Naps

Anyone down to one a day? She really needs two but really puts up a fight. I haven't tried just one yet but we may today as there are electricians working on the house today and making too much noise for her to sleep.

  • Naps. My baby thinks there's no such thing as naps. Lol we're lucky if she takes one.

  • Not even close. K takes for sure 2 naps, and depending on how life is, we may get a very short third one. Teeth and traveling have been kicking her butt.

  • DC has transitioned her to one.  They say she sleeps for 2 hours, but I don't buy it.  On the weekends, she hates napping.

I think she does better with two, but she's still sleeping fine at night with one, and she's going to bed earlier.

This is a horror story to me. Carolyn gets so cranky when she needs sleep. I still have to hold her thru her naps sometimes, but that is a small price to pay for a happy baby.
I was going to try for just one today, but she became super cranky so I caved. She was out like a light. Scared to transition her to the crib since the guys are still making noise working on the house.

This is us pretty much. Around 10 - 2 and 6 he's needing a nap. Fights hard, sometimes misses one or its short. Bed at 8 or 9 depending on how well he napped, or how hard he's fighting.

This is us too... unless I wear him in the K'tan or Ergo, then he naps.

Same here. At DC she does 2. At home on the weekends she sometimes does 3 still. I think I just pay attention to her sleepiness cues more than they do.

  • We've had a few one day naps, totally the worsssst.  We're at 2 consistently, sometimes 3.

  • LO takes 2 naps at home on the weekends, but at DC she usually takes just one. Maybe because it's so exciting there? But then she sleeps in the car on the way home because she's so tired.
  • How long are these naps? B is taking one decent nap that is 1-2 hours, and a couple half hour naps too. She doesn't have a solid schedule though.
When O only takes 2 naps they are usually at least an hour...at home it's usually 1.5-2 hours and at DC it's closer to an hour. When she does the 3 naps at home they are usually only 45 minutes. She has never napped very well at DC.

This.  He takes an hour morning nap, a 2 hour afternoon nap, and depending on how much fun he's had all day, he'll take a short 20-30 minute catnap before dinner.  Then he sleeps 12 hours like a rock through the night.

They vary wildly. Sometimes 15 minutes. Sometimes over 2 hours. It's really hard to know what to expect.

  • One or two naps a day here.
Depends on what's going on and how busy we/he has been.

I don't push the second nap, I look for cues. It also depends on what time he got up in the morning and how long/what te he takes first nap.

I just play it by ear...
  • M takes a nap at 9 and two for about 1.5 hrs each!
  • Two to three naps, here.

  • I started a last week trying one nap because he would fight the first nap cause he wasn't tired enough.... not working so much. So im going back to two naps a day. Hes never really crabby till he goes to eat and if hes really tired he wont eat anything but cherrios.the other thing I don't like about the 2 naps is hes usually getting tired around 4 and for him to take a nap at 4 makes me think he wont sleep at night. We are close but not yet
  • Usually 2 naps, about 1.5 hours each. If one nap is only 45 minutes he still needs a third nap, but this doesn't happen often anymore.
