Charting/Temping Question / Input

Okay, it's only been 4 days but my chart looks all over the place. It has huge mountain zig zags...is that normal?

Re: Charting/Temping Question / Input

  • I think by western medicine, it's fine (somebody correct me if I'm wrong!), but I'd definitely bring this to your acupuncturist so she can help realign "qi" with whatever system is causing the fluctuations. TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) wants the temps to stay relatively consistent, with a couple tenths difference. But I don't think big fluctuations are worth worrying about.

Don't panic though. Mine was the same way for a while and it was all straightened out with a few treatments of acupuncture. :)  It's definitely a good indicator for your acupuncturist to work with.

Are you temping at almost the exact same time each morning? Are you doing it before you get out of bed and are you getting at least 4 hours of straight sleep prior to temping? These are all important factors too.

    :)

  • It's very normal for temperatures to go up and down during AF.  Your progesterone just tanked, estrogen is going to take over and it's kind of a hormonal battle in there!  When your flow/spotting stops you should see the temps calm at a lower number until you gear up.

  • Okay- I really don't know anything about this. But I've seen stock market charts that looked calmer! LoL.

Yes, I have an alarm on my phone set for 6:30 am that says "TAKE BBT".
I don't get up before and my thermometer is right on the nightstand. I roll around a lot and do crazy crap in my sleep though. :-??

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it :)

  • It's really difficult to interpret with only four temps - just be patient and give it a month. And as someone else mention AF temps are usually nuts.
