I do all the day time stuff pretty much, (SAHM) and put him to bed except for a handful of times. I make DH do night shift feedings. I've done it a little but it's mostly him. DH only has to get up if I can't make A go back to sleep with out bottle. I'f he refuses and it's play time at night, I get up so DH can sleep.
My DH is pretty great with DS too. It seems like if he wants to nurse (obviously), he wants me, if he wants to be comforted, he'll take either of us, but if he wants to play or laugh, he prefers Daddy. Maybe I'm just not as silly and goofy, but I can't make him laugh the same way, and DH is more entertaining.
My oh my what a bunch of lucky ladies! DH has only put emma to sleep a few times back in her first week of life! None since and no night feedings at all.. [-X
However, he is very good with her when they DO get to interact.
believe me I DO feel "lucky".. or better worded I feel like I have a guy who understands and respects the role of partner and dad and he does what he SHOULD, as do I .. I feel lucky because I know there are a lot of guys who don't take the lead in the parenting role....
I know there are days when I can find things to complain about.. and that is normal.... there are things he does that I wish he would do in a different way.. but I am 100% sure he has the same issues...
