S/o chicken pox- hypothetical question

So in my household, my dh has had the pox. my mom vaguely remembers me having a mild case as a kid but I receive the vax for extra protection. My kids have never had the pox but have received the vax.

Hypothetically speaking, what are the chances of me catching it? And if I did catch it, how bad of a case would I get? Isn't it worse the older you get? Like potentially life threatening?

  • Talk to your doctor. Not sure but maybe they could check of antibodies.

I know adult cases where the adult has had it before. My mom and aunt both had more than 1 case of chicken pox. I think my moms had 3. I could be remembering wrong. I know she had one when I was a kid (after I had it) and it got so bad it went all the way down her throat. Scary stuff.

ETA I too think that this would be better poised at your doc.
