Trying to rationalize with a 2 yr old

...is just plain silly! I offered her a cracker on the way home from work today. She took it, didn't take a bite, then gave it right back to me. That was my green light...I proceeded to eat the rest of the crackers. 10 minutes later, she's crying cuz she wants her cracker back! Apparently no one has ever taught her to not give food back to a pregnant lady unless you're ok with it being eaten! Silly girl, we need to teach you some manners!!

LOL. I believe in tough love with DD. Sounds like you did what I would have done too. Frequently when DD whines about wanting something I say, "Yeah, and I want a million dollars. Looks like we both will be disappointed." Doesn't stop the whining but it sure makes me feel better!

That's great!  I'm actually reminded of the old Jenny Craig (I think) commercial when the woman is giving her testimony of hitting her low point and it was when her kid covered up his dinner with his hands and said, "No mommy, my food"!  This is how I envision Julia by the end of this pregnancy!!  HAHA!!!

Yes, definitely a tough love Mama over here!  When she starts in with the "I want..." stuff, I usually say something like, "Yea, well I want you to play quietly with your toys and not scream in the house, things don't always work out the way we want them to"!  Some might call that mean, but I call it LOVE!
