Bad news.

So my doctor just called and said that my levels doubled again which is great right? No not really. She said that I should be 8-12wks with levels that high, which seems impossible my last period was July 11th. So this is no good my U/S is this afternoon but I think I already know the outcome.

So your levels are high and you should be at least 8 weeks but you're about 7 weeks? Or am I missing something and your levels are too low??

Have you had an us? It could be twins? Or is she worried about an ectopic?

Maybe your July 11 period was actually implantation bleeding? I've heard of women actually being a full month ahead of where they thought they were because they had implantation bleeding and thought it was a period?

My doctor said with levels like that I should be 8-12wks which is impossible.

Yeah but multiples can make your numbers high too!  It seems premature for them to be freaking you out, I'm sorry!!!  FX for the best.

I'm confused....what are your worried about? I don't see an issue with high levels other than it could mean twins...

But that's not bad news, right? What is your Dr. concerned about? I've never heard of levels being TOO high.

The sac is empty that's my consider and if I am "8-12wks" they should have most definitely seen a fetal pole last week.

Ill be 7 wks Thursday. My doctor didn't say blight ovum she just said that she's very curious to see my U/S results. Whatever that means..

Hmm.....I'm thinking and praying for you today. Just hang in there, you never know, be positive! I feel like her saying "she's curious" about seeing the ultrasound isn't awful news.....really hoping everything works out this afternoon.

it's not over yet...  have faith!!  if you're 6w5d today and at your u/s last week they showed a sac and nothing else, it's possible you will see a sweet little baby in there today.  please keep us posted - i'm praying all goes well this afternoon!

If I'm not mistaken, you can't tell how far along a pregnancy is (accurately, anyway) by hcg numbers. If your LMP was July 11 you're 6.5ish weeks? This is what I get from americanpregnancy.org: 

• 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 – 56,500 mIU/ml
• * These numbers are just a GUIDELINE– every woman’s level of hCG can rise differently. It is not necessarily the level that matters but rather the change in the level.

Your levels are apparently doubling and 68,000 isn't that much higher than 56,000. I wouldn't count yourself out yet. Hope everything turns out fine.

My Hcg number was not that much lower than yours, and we saw a healthy baby, with a heartbeat. I was 6w6d. And when I had my blighted ovum, my hcg number didn't double, it just would rise, but not double.

So I apologize if anyone else has asked this but could it be twins? Also, if they saw an empty sac is it normal for your HCG levels to continue to be high? This is confusing! What time is your appointment?

I'm so sorry you are going through this and I hope that this isn't your outcome. 

I went through exactly this last April, my levels were increasing but the sac was completely empty.  I truly hope that you can seen something on the u/s. Good luck and sending ((hugs))
