New here - MTHFR and IUGR

Hi all, my name is Elizabeth.  I am due November 29th.  I'm currently 26w3d with a little girl.  I had two miscarriages within a year, so she is my miracle baby.  After the second miscarriage, my doctor started the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss testing.  It came back (right before my BFP) that I have the homozygous C677T MTHFR gene mutation.  My baby girl was diagnosed with IUGR.  I'm wondering if there's any other moms out there with the same two issues.  I've read that the two could quite possibly be related.  I have an appointment with an MFM tomorrow, and I'm just wondering what sorts of questions I should be asking, or if you have any advice that could help me out.  I know that MTHFR is still a relatively new and controversial diagnosis.  I'm wondering if you've found some good, unbiased information.  Everything I find is one extreme or another.

What is the cause of the iugr?
What goal week should we shoot for?
Is there anything eating wise I need to do to help things?

Are you being treated for MTHFR?  L-methylfolate? Aspirin? Possibly Lovenox?

I believe that MTHFR could potentially contribute to placental insufficiency, which could in turn cause IUGR (probably only if you are prone to clotting).  I also think abnormal folate metabolism could possibly affect development, but usually would be worried about major issues w/ spine or heart anatomy, not IUGR.

I don't know anything about the gene mutation, but my DD was diagnosed with IUGR and delivered by c-section at 37 weeks. She weighed 5 lb 8 oz but was perfectly healthy. Now she is 20 months and beginning to catch up a little on the growth charts, but has always met or exceeded every developmental milestone. I'm 29 weeks now and my dr just put me on a folate supplement to try to prevent a recurrence of IUGR this time.
