My OBGYN suggested we try and apply for Medicaid while I am pregnant. First, I didn't know you could apply for maternity benefits, but apparently you can. I did a pre-qualification survey online and it said we may qualify. So, anyways, we were sent papers from DCF to have our employer fill out about our income (the papers say nothing about the pregnancy). Anyways, DH took them in today (we work for the same place), since I am off. I also gave him my confirmation of pregnancy letter, because once he got the papers filled out, he was going to fax them all into the DCF office.
Well, we talked several times about what he needed to do exactly. I also attached a step by step instructions (he asked me to). We talked about the fact the letter was in there also, so not to just leave it laying around. Well, he just called me to tell me he left the note in payroll while she was filling it out and now the payroll department knows. Awesome. I am pretty PO'd. He doesn't want me to tell anyone and wants to keep it this big secret for now, which considering my losses, I get, but he stupid enough to just hand the letter to a coworker.
Re: Well, the cat is partially out of the bag at work, thanks to DH!
Does your payroll department interact with the rest of the company regulalry?
If yes-- I would just shrug it off. If they did notice the letter-- there's nothing you can do-- right? So it's not worth getting upset about.
I totally understand not wanting to tell too early-- I had 2 first tri losses-- but what's done is done. I would give both yourself and your H a break on this one.
