How long in a cover?

This is probably a total newb question, so I apologize if I missed this in CD101.  If a cover doesn't get dirty, how long do you keep using it?  We usually alternate between 2 best bottom covers for each diaper change.  How long do you keep a cover in rotation before it goes into the wash?

I think two a day, wash...bam.  My H thinks you use them until they smell.  I'm not quite on board with that.

I agree with ABC.  Two per day, then wash.

We rotate through 3-4 covers for every wash cycle (which is every other day).

With flip covers I use 2-3 per day.

since most of our stash is pockets or aio's and I use the prefolds/covers sporadically, I'll typically use the same cover two or three times in a row and hand wash it, then lay it in a window to dry.  

If they were my primary CD's, I'd do as pp's have said-rotate two for the day, then into the wash
