Justifying TTC #2

From the start, we always planned for two children. After the ordeal we had after my DD and my m/c. I find that DH and I spend a lot of time trying to justify having a second child. As if its not hard enough making the decision to have a second. WIth each month that goes by I feel like I should become content with our family of 3 but its so hard when I have always imagined 4.  Anyone else feel this way?


 6/09 right tube loss (fallopian torsion) 12/09 BFP #1 (DD born 9/10)
8/12 dx Lupus (ANA+/APA-), 12/12 BFP #2  natural m/c 6w 2d 
TTC#2  since 9/12  50mg Clomid/Ovidrel IUI #1 Beta 10/4=BFN
                             50mg Clomid/Ovidrel IUI #2 Beta 11/1= BFN
                                  100 mg Clomid/Ovidrel IUI #3 Beta 12/26=BFFN
100 mg Clomid/Ovidrel IUI #4 Beta 2/14= BFFN
Took a LONG Break

    I am the same. I somehow feel that if I become content with our family of 3, then I will magically get our family of 4. I cannot justify it. and I find myself trying to bargain with God somehow. It doesn't work. If it is meant to be it will be, but it isn't easy to believe that my plan isn't everyone elses.

    Married: 3/23/13 Together since: 4/11/10
    DD born 4/19/09 after a summer fling after graduation. Not planned
    Dx with Endometriosis and Ovarian Cysts July 2010
    TTC since July 2010

    DX with unexplained secondary IF 2012
    BFP Oct 6, 2013
    Confirmation BFP at Dr. Office Oct 7, 2013

    Miscarriage confirmed 10/19/13

    CD 21 full panel blood work 3/18/14 to initiate fertility treatment

    Psalm 34:18 "...The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit..."

    I feel the same way. I don't want to look back in 5-10 years with any regrets. I want my daughter to have a sister or brother to grow up with.

    I agree with both of you. The hardest thing about IF for me has been not being able to *choose* to be done or not.  For DH, he is becoming more content with our family of 3 but this is a decision that effects the rest of our lives not just right now.  It just sucks.

    very much so. DH is not ok with it. DD is my daughter, he is her step dad... worries me sometimes, IF can lead to marital issues when the other is ok and one is not. It is hard for us to discuss sometimes.
