1st round of clomid side effects???

Hi all this is my first time posting but I read alot of posts as they keep me hopeful! I'm 36 DH is 40 he has 2 kids from a previous marriage both are DS and 15 and 18 needless to say i'm having baby fever! We have gotten pg 3 times and all 3 have had sad endings. 3/9/10 etopic lost a tube and ovary, 2/9/11 MC, and the saddest one was 6/20/12 baby lost her heart beat at 19wks and had to deliver her, I also had wicked hyper emesis, like a home healthcare nurse coming to put in I.V's and had to use a zofran pump. After losing her i did not want to have kids, doctors talked me out of doing anything drastic. So i got an Mirena IUD and kept it in til 3/5/13 we having been trying ever since per my doc. 6 months have rolled on passed and BFN! So she has started me on 50mg of clomid which i just started Sat....anyone have any side effects and what are they? Anybody get a BFP on the 1st round? BABY DUST to you all!!!!

I'm so sorry - you have been through so much. Everyone is different but i had no side effects whatsoever with clomid. I hope your experience is similar. Good luck.

MarylandWed thank you for the reply. So far the only issue is with my boobs....and we're having a heat wave right now.

Like, MarylandWed said, I am sorry for all that you have been through...that is tuff.  I didn't have any side effects with Clomid, either.  I hope yours will be similar and you get a BFP!

So sorry for your losses.  Welcome to the board.  I hope you are seeing a RE and being heavily monitored on Clomid.  Good luck!

So sorry for your losses, I can't imagine how painful that would be. 

As for the Clomid- my main symptoms were hot flashes, which started about the last day I took it and lasted more or less for the rest of the cycle, mostly during the night. Made for a lot of lousy sleep. This month (4th round of Clomid) was actually the best- really minor hot flashes, though my dose has been the same each time (100mg).

Thank you ladies for the support! As I am kind of new to the ttc lingo what exactly is an RE? And have any of you ladies had a BFP?

RE, reproductive endocronologist....that might be too many o's in that LOL. There are many ladies that have had BFP's on this board, some had it and m/c, others have gone on to have healthy babies, some are back for #2, #3 etc and others have never had a bfp. Its all very different and a wide range of possibilities.

some lingo:

fmu - full morning urine

poas/c - pee on a stick/cup

m/c  - miscarry

bw - blood work

u/s ultra sound

dpo - days past/post ovulation

dpo5dpt days past ovulation 5 days post transfer etc...

fet - frozen egg transfer...

BD - big deed/sex

DH - dear hubby

HeathernSteven....thanks for the info. I haven't seen an RE but my doctor is the greatest! I switched doctors after the ordeal i had with my old obgyne! No Bueno! The new doc is a total patient advocate and has me on a plan! Love her!

I'm now at T-Minus 6 days before I will definitely know anything! Fxd for a sticky baby! I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. I keep thinking everything thing is a sign of pregnancy, I kinda want to stay away from Google and it's evil search engines!

I just took my first does of clomid yesterday...second today. Still a few more days before we get to dtd, but I'm excited! So far I have had hot flashes and crazy dreams. But otherwise, everything seems good to go! Wishing you lots of babydust and a sticky baby!!

That's probably a good idea to stay away from Dr. Google and other such sites....Best wishes for you....hopefully, the time will go by fast.....

So my AF was due yesterday, I tested with fmu got a bfn....today nothing and I have said to myself I'm not gonna test anymore until the 22nd exactly one month since my last af. I'm feeling lil cramps like pulling bbs are kinda sore and have this on going metallic taste in my mouth and one get a bfp after bfn on 13dpo?
