Bruise! :(

MH got a little rough playing with E, and she bumped her face on her crib. She already has a bruise coming up so we are trying to ice it. Do you give Tylenol for injuries like that?
And please don't flame MH, it was an accident. It could have happened to anyone.

Oh, poor E! No judging here, accidents happen! A little Tylenol won't hurt at all and if she is sore it will help. Motrin will help if she has swelling. Use one or the other. Keep icing, usually 20 minutes on, 20 off, although I doubt she'll sit still for 20 minutes

Haha, 20 minutes. That's cute! One ugly blue bruise, one big angry red mark. On her face of course. Guess she hit 2 slats. Poor thing! She's a trooper though.

I would just give her Tylenol if she seems bothered by it.

Don't feel bad! My boys are really rough with one another and have had several bruises on their foreheads from swinging toys at each other, being pushed down, falling in the crib while laughing at brother.... Short of bubble wrapping their giant noggins, I'm not sure what I could do. I bet the fun of playing with Dad was totally worth it.

I have iced the injury for a few minutes, which helped with some swelling. But, I have never given Tylenol/Motrin. I've considered it, but they always seem to be just fine without it and never seem to be affected by the bruise the next day.

At the advice if our pedi, we bought some arnica gel and use it on her bumps and bruises. It works best if you start using it right away, so might be too late this time. They sell it in natural food stores or on the web.
