Help with feeding schedule

My girls are 10 days old and the dr has us feeding every 3 hours, if they don't get hungry sooner than that we wake to feed them. I'm having a hard time keeping them on the same schedule though. It seems one is always hungrier earlier and then when I try to feed the other she is not interested. Than an hour later she is hungry and they are all off schedule. Any tips on how to keep them
On track? If it keeps up this way I don't know how I'm ever going to get any sleep! Right now DH is home so it helps but I am petrified I when he goes back to work next week, he works the midnight shift.

Re: Help with feeding schedule

  • Are you breast or ff? How much earlier is the first one hungry? Are they eating their full amount? If she is only hungry a little bit before the 3 hours is up can you hold her off for a few minutes to get them in synch? Or maybe she needs more at each feeding to hold her over. If shes hungry 30 mins before try holding her off 15 mins and feeding the other 15 mins early until youre in-synch? Mine always were good about the every 3 hours so I'm not a ton of help but maybe that's a solution? But when they would start getting hungry early it usually meant it was time to up their bottles. Hth. Good luck!
