Flashback to your NT Scan

Hi Ladies -

Several moms on the March 2014 board, myself included, have recently been told at our NT scans that we are having boys.  I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to the idea, since it seems so early.  My question is, were any of you told the sex at your NT scans, and - what I really want to know is - did it turn out to be accurate?

I know I'll get a better idea of my own situation in a few weeks, but just thought I'd take a survey in the meantime

12 weeks is too early! they are guessing based on the "angle of the dangle". my angle of the dangle prediction wasn't at the NT scan but it was some point early on and it was an accurate "guess".

I was told at 14 weeks that the u/s tech would "almost bet my job that it's a girl"...well at 16, 18, 20, and 22 weeks she is still a girl!

It all depends on the u/s tech and the equipment. My scans were done at MFM so their machines are better than at my regular OB.  I didn't go out and buy stuff until after the 3rd scan saying girl, but it is "possible" to get a good guesstimate.  There is some new research that says depending on the skill of the u/s tech that you can find out earlier than 20 weeks, but they still confirm at the 20 week a/s.

DH is a radiologist. He determined DD was a girl at 13w1d. 12wks is really pushing it.

I had my NT scan with a perinatologist (he was actually doing the u/s) at 12w5d with DD.  He has great equipment and was able to predict that she was a girl.  I think it depends on who is doing it and what type of machine they're using.  But I definitely think a good guess is possible.

Thanks for all the feedback!  Sounds like everyone agrees that it is too early to tell from an NT scan.  But . . . not one of you has a "my ultrasound tech was wrong" story from an early guess   Hmmmm. 

Couldn't resist buying a couple of boyish sleep sacks yesterday, but if it's a girl, she will look just as cute in them!

I just had our NT scan, and the same doctor that predicted my DD was a girl predicted that we are having another girl.  I know it's early, but I'm already convinced and am buying a few new girly things.
