I have recently come off BC and I plan on waiting at least 3 months before TTC. I don't know if there is any correlation, but I have witnessed a lot of miscarriages of women who have just come off BC. That worries me. Anyways, I'm just wondering how long everyone waited after BC before trying or getting pregnant?
Re: How long after BC did you get pregnant?
I think it depends on the individual's comfort level and the type of BC they were on.
What did your doctor recommend? I'd follow his/her instructions.
Off bc in January, started trying in May. Had 28 day cycles until July when I had a 58 day cycle... My Dr. Believes that my body is still adjusting to being off BC after being on it for ten years.

Sooooo... I dunno.
Eta: misread the body of the post. Fail.
You can wait as long as you like, but there's no need to.

Sure, it is true that there are many women here who have been pregnant. However, the concentration of pregnant women on the 1st tri is 'logically' closer to 100%, whereas the concentration of pregnant women on TTGP is 'logically' closer to 0%. In this case, the OP did ask how long did you wait before TTC or becoming pregnant but it seems PPs were not sure how helpful/relevant the answers will be to her particular question if they are not pregnant.
If she cares about more responses based on actual pregnancies after BC, and not just how long anyone waited to start TTC, then it would be a logical question to ALSO ask on 1st tri.
To the OP, I have been off hormonal BC for approximately 11 years. I waited 9 years before NTNP and 10 years before TTC. @byegurlbye had the answer - there is not a scientific correlation to post-BC conception ending in more frequent MC. Wait if it makes you more comfortable, but there is no scientific reason to do so.

Nope. This board is hella more active than 1st Tri. OP would get replies but not as many because participation is lower over there kwim?
I'm picking up what you're laying down. But that's why I said It would be a logical question to ALSO post over there since there are more currently pregnant ladies over there - the activity of the board is another legitimate point to consider.
Now that you mention it, though, I have lurked a bit lately over on 1st Tri and I have to say - it kind of makes me worry for the future, so I will concede she's may get more intelligent answers over here.

I waited one cycle. Got pregnant on the 4th cycle trying.
That said, it did take a few cycles for my LP to regulate (started on the low end, then increased after a few cycles).

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
This exactly for me. We began trying immediately after coming off the pill. When to start depends on when you want to. If you want to give your body a chance to regulate coming off the pill, then do so. I agree with what byegurlbye said, there's no proof of correlation between coming off the pill & m/c.
My sister stopped the pill and never even had a period - Pregnant on the first try.
