Pickup Tantrums

Hi,

My son is 17 months and has been going to daycare since 12 months. He loves it there and we love it too. Overall everything goes really well. At drop off he is happy and instantly runs to see his friends. However, at pick up time he throws mini tantrums everytime. The last couple days he has started hitting too. Its so frustrating as all the other kids are happy to see their parents and never make a fuss about going home. Anyone else deal with this? Any tips?

My daughter is almost 15 months and we've experienced this.  On the days she's one of the last kids left, she's happy to go.  But if there's a bunch of kids there, or one of her favorite teachers, she pitches a fit about leaving.  Makes me feel like chopped liver, but I guess I can't blame her.  And I like knowing that she's having a blast and loves her school
