PSA: Pinterest tip for splinter removal works

DD got her first splinter yesterday in her finger. I tried to squeeze it out all old-school style but that got us no where. I then remembered seeing something on Pinterest about using baking soda and tracked down the pin.

Just mix baking soda and water into a paste.. schmear on splinter spot and cover with bandaid (to keep it in place) for a few minutes. Remove bandage, wipe off paste, pick up splinter with tweezers. DD was so excited because it worked and she didn't feel anything.

  • It definitely works. My grandma used to do it for me when I was little.

  • This also works for bee stings.
