Plug In Swing?

Anyone have recommendations for an electric swing that ideally is something that can be folded/put away when not in use? A lot of the swings I'm seeing are just massive in size and our condo is relatively small. The best one I found was on Craigslist, the Graco Duo Swing and Bouncer and the lady said it plugged in, however all the ones I am seeing online for sale to add to a registry are battery operated.

Re: Plug In Swing?

  • The Snugabunny swing has a large footprint but it can be folded when not in use. Other than the motor issues (which Fisher-Price is aware of b/c they'll send a replacement for free) it's a great swing.
  • The mamaroo....plugs in and takes up little space. It doesn't fold, but it fits almost anywhere.

  • Good to know the snugabunny folds, thanks!
  • Is yours battery powered?  The one you linked was.  I'm wondering if the plug in Duo's are no longer in circulation at retail stores.
  • That Graco swing/bouncer combo is seriously huge, IMO.  I borrowed it from a friend and it took up too much space; I ended up giving it back to her and getting a Snugabunny secondhand.  The Snugabunny is larger than our other swing (the How Now Brown Cow Cradle 'n Swing, battery operated only), but it has a lot more features and the babies seem to like it better.

I think FP is making a lot more of their swings available with AC adapters now, so it's worth reading the descriptions of the swings carefully.

  • Thanks, I was just glancing at the listings on amazon or what not and if it says takes X batteries, I was writing it off.
  • Oh geez, I didn't even think about the batteries being for the vibration in the bouncer. Makes sense. That aspect I was okay with, my sister just told me swings that use batteries, you go thru them left and right. Real pain. But she had a bouncer and never complained about the batteries with that.
  • We have the mamaroo by 4moms as well. A little pricey but I think it will be worth it in the long run. (: it is plug in.
  • We have the Graco Dreampeace. It's big but fantastic and can be used up to 25 lbs so you can use it longer. It plugs in. The vibrate feature runs on batteries. But the batteries lasted a long time and when they ran out we didn't replace them because he no longer needed that feature. We love this swing!!

  • Definitely mamaroo
  • I think some (or even most) of the plug-in swings take batteries just so you have the option of using one or the other, but if the description says they come with an AC adapter then you should be OK.
