Tricycle anyone?!

So my son is turning 2 soon and I want to get him a tricycle for his birthday and I was just wondering what you ladies have gotten for your little ones?! Please share your likes/ dislikes, thanks :)

Re: Tricycle anyone?!

  • We got this Schwinn one when it was on sale at Christmas. https://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Easy-Steer-Tricycle-White/dp/B003BWITGG It was great when she was first learning because we could steer her and help push her along. Now that she is good to go on her own, we took the handle off and she rides solo. She prefers this trike to the Radio Flyer  one my MIL bought.

  • DD got a Schwinn Roadster from my parents for her second birthday. I love that it is super easy to pedal and steer. I didn't like that it didn't have a push bar - to help her pedal in the beginning and for when she would refuse to ride it home.

Yes, I think I have heard other people say the same thing about the Roadster.  DD has always been off the charts for height so she had no problem reaching the pedals.

They sell pedal blocks to attach to help them reach. I have not tried them but someone told me. The Schwinn tricycle we have has pegs for LO's to put their feet on until they can reach the pedals. We love it!

This is what we have and LOVE it! Who ever invented the handle for parents to steer was genius. I think DS feels independent on it even though we are guiding him. This also got really got reviews on all the sites I visited. Good luck in your search I know how hard it can be to make a decision.

  • DD got one for her second bday in March. Didn't use it much until June and she loves it although she's still mastering the pedals and can't steer worth a damn.

Same here. He loves it and now can pedal well but can't steer. Or watch where he's going lol.

  • We have the Schwinn Roadster and I hate it!!  DS has tipped over multiple times when going fast down the driveway because the steering wheel has no stopping point.  It's also hard to peddle (hence why he's going DOWN the driveway) and he gets very frustrated with it.  My DH hated the look of a "parent handle" but I think one of those are next on our list!
