Cloth Diapering

S'bish OBFs

Are the OBFs more absorbent than the S'bish snapless because the soaker is a double layer, or it it the diaper itself? I've heard everybody say the OBFs are so much better for ON and we have been getting leaks with the snapless for awhile. I just got an OBF, but I tried with just the doubler instead of the double layer soaker since I prefer for it to be less bulky. 2 out of 3 nights it's leaked up his stomach, so I'm guessing I need to use the snap-in soaker instead? It's totally soaked in the morning.

Re: S'bish OBFs

  • How many times have you washed your OBF? I found it really needed to be washed at least 6 times, although 8 was better. I used all the inserts and a thin hemp doubler until it was fully prepped.

  • Yes, you definitely need to use the snap in soaker.  I used the snap in, the doubler, and an addition hemp or bamboo doubler when DD was a heavy overnight wetter.

  • Use the snap in soaker AND the doubler that came with it.  I have a heavy wetter and I have been also using a hemp insert as well.  I just learned that you can trifold the doubler in the wetzone to create a more "personalized" absorbency.  Although that does create even more bulk.  Once LOs rash is gone and he is back in his OBFs I will be trying the trifolded doubler in the front to see if it helps.
