Yeah I have had the same thought many times when they ask "White or chocolate milk?" when we order for the kids at restaurants.
Seriously, these servers must not have kids. I don't want O having chocolate milk at dinner. They even offer soda. Who offers really young children soda? Idiots.
Lol. I remember reading the story about the candy- wasn't that her first candy?.
I haven't had to deal with the chocolate milk yet- but I've had family members take it upon themselves to give my kid soda and say "Oh don't worry, we watered it down first" Umm.. How about you just not give soda to my toddler! ~X(

The thing that does make it hard for me is when her cousins are sitting there shoving candy and junk food in their faces and my daughter who idolizes her older cousins wants to be like them. I give in sometimes to the candy and junk food but never the drinks. She doesn't even know what pop tastes like and she's 4. I'm not ruining that!
Kids eating with other/bigger kids is so hard. My SIL gives her kids anything they want. We all went out to dinner and my niece had chicken fingers dipped in Mayo and french fries. This was after an order of fried pickles. Not that that will kill anyone but my 2yo has yet to have fried food and I had intended on keeping it that way for a bit longer until she saw her older cousin eating it. It was an all out war that I eventually gave into for that one time. Oh well.
