A Nuk Thief

Today I went and picked E up from daycare and to my surprise I heard my wonderful little dude is stealing other kids pacifiers. I was kind of surprised at this since he never took one at home. Our daycare lady said he does this multiple times a day. Do I start buying Nuks or just ask her to try distraction techniques?  Any brand that you like?

In other news. This is our dog as the original nuk thief

Re: A Nuk Thief

  • Maybe you could buy him one and put it on a clip that attaches to his shirt. But that is weird about him stealing it from other children.

That's a ridiculously cute doggie photo.

  • My nephew was trying to steal LO's binky. So, my sister thought it was time to try again. He now loves binkies, and he did this at 11 months.

  • The other kids at daycare do this all the time.  They want something the other kids have.

I like the suggestion of the clip.  We have a first years which I love because its plastic.  We also have a booginhead, but its metal.  I have pinched DD before trying to get it attached.  She also likes to put the clip end in her mouth and I feel better about the plastic over the metal, although I try to discourage putting that end in whenever possible.

As for brands, we are a nuk family.  I have a jar of every kind.  She will suck on anything for a minute, but the nuk is the only one she will keep in long term.

  • Cute pic! My moms pup steals A's pacies. I think it's adorable but at the same time if I let him have one he will never learn they aren't his to have! Lol. I did get pics before I took it though!!! Hehe.

  • Mine is doing this too. He will pull his out of his mouth and take someone else's. My DCP said it was normal, he's curious etc. My other board that's a lot busier said the same thing so I'm not worrying about it. They should be able to handle it.

We use MAM but I think distraction would work better.
