Mobile: 3 under 3 - jealousy and potty training
One of the greatest things about having our kids so close together (16 months), was that there were basically no jealousy issues! By the time DS was talking and old enough to really understand DD's role in our family / his life, he had no recollection of her ever not being there!
However, now that I'm pregnant again, I'm finding that DS (currently 2yrs 10mo old) is getting more clingy and showing possible jealous signs of the new baby (due in Sept.). Has anyone dealt with this? Any words of advice?
I'm specifically concerned about the regression behavior I've heard about, because we were hoping to potty train this summer (no way!), so potty training will most likely begin with a newborn around, and I'm worried that we'll have an extra difficult time with it because of regression, jealousy etc. Of course, I'm not going to push anything, but I do think 3yr-3.5 years old is a good time to really make an effort at it.
Re: 3 under 3 - jealousy and potty training...
Thanks for sharing your experience!
We've really been working on getting the kids excited about their new brother or sister to be... We are also hoping that since there won't be the shock of sharing their world with a new brother/sister (as they already share everything), that it won't be too bad...
I'm just geting nervous as we get closer to the time!!
