Postpartum Depression

new here

I'm not sure where I belong but I have a 9 month old and I always felt a little blue, but since my miscarriage in March I have been completely out of my mind. I am afraid to talk to someone about this since I don't want anyone to think I'm a bad mom. Sometimes I just think it is work, but sometimes I wish it would all end. What should I do?

  • I would suggest counseling or therapy. I'm sure that's not what you want to hear. The first time someone suggested it to me I was like NO WAY. I didn't want to talk to a stranger about my personal problems.

After it got bad enough I bit the bullet and went and I was SO glad I did it. It's nice to have a neutral third party listen to your ramblings. They are compassionate and they help you make sense out of your thoughts and your life. They'll also give you practical tips (and sometimes "homework") to help you deal with depression/anxiety.

  • Another vote for a counselor. Mine knows I'm not a bad mom, just one adjusting to a new reality.
