First off, I'm new here.. hey hey!  I've always loved discussing baby names.  Hopefully the H and I can discuss our own soon.

I was at the bank this morning, and a mother (I assume) was telling her daughter to stand still in line.. called her Ada (assuming it's spelled like that).

Whatcha all think? I like it

I love Ada. The simple --a names are lovely, IMO (Isla, Ava, Lelia, Ada, Ida, et al.)

My coworker just named her baby girl Ada.  Ada Marie.

My reaction?  Meh.  It doesn't sound pretty to me.  Ay- duh.  Just like I don't like the sound of Amanda.  A man duh.  The DUH kills it for me.

Probably just my quirk though.  It's a fine name, just NMS.

My name is Adachely. And everyone calls me Ada . Nope don't like it lol! Even if it is my own ( I know sad)

I love Ada, we used it for our dog. We're really for using human names on dogs though so I definitely don't consider it a "dog" name.

Ada is one of those names I like for someone else's child.  It's cute, but I still vastly prefer Ava.  Despite it's popularity, I think the V in Ava makes the name softer and therefore more attractive to me.  The D in Ada makes the name too clunky for my taste.

My great-aunt's name was Ara.  The family loved it, but she hated it.  So while I think it's a great name for a girl, I would never use it.  But it is an interesting option to Ada/Ida/Ava/Eva.
