DH cooked a turkey yesterday and I decided to use my new mandoline slicer to slice yellow squash and I cut my thumb really bad and needed 4 stitches. So much for healthy eating! It is amazing how hard it is to do things without your dominant thumb. I am an idiot!

Oh my god!  I'm so sorry to hear you hurt yourself!  And I'm sorry for laughing too.   It's not funny you hurt yourself, but isn't that just the rotten way it goes.

I was going to post an "inspired"post tonight as well! Sorry about your thumb... Sounds like something that would happen to me.

I just went and picked up a couple things on my lunch break. Some ground turkey, while grain pasta, sloppy Joe sauce, and some frozen broccoli. Were gonna have sloppy turkey pasta tonight (I know I could find a recipe for home made sloppy how sauce but I just the this together in my head a minute ago) and a side of cheesy steamed broccoli.

DH and the kids waited until and Mom and I got back from the ER to eat. The turkey was good but the kids were full from the crackers they ate while upset and waiting for me so they barely ate.

Alton Brown likes use a kevlar glove with a mandolin. 

My knife skills are abysmal. It's so embarrassing, but I swear I would use a butter knife for everything if I could get away with it. DH will literally take big kid knives out of my hands. 

Sorry you got cut.
